'Ello, my suggestions for some good authors (esp. for people who like manga including me OF COURSE) who write fantasy novels.
1. Piers Anthony. Amazingly imaginative. The details are so intricate in description, you might try and picture the scenes in manga-style like I do!
2. Peter S. Beagle. Author of the novel The Last Unicorn. I'm sure most of you remember that movie and if you're like me, you own it 
3. Terry Brook(s?). Not my thing BUT I know many people who are otaku like her (his?) style.
Give them a try...trust me I love manga as much as the next otaku but it helps to have back-up when your waiting for the next volume the series you collect comes in...
