It's actually a very simple concept to understand. See, when one is seeking to gain notoriety for certain odds and ends, calling attention to it is only apt to inflate his/her ego. Such is the case with Hajime-senpai.
Besides that, calling someone an arrogant, annoying, conceited jerk over the Internet is unlikely to bruise anyone's ego unless the one being called such things is ten years old. (Bad, one-sentence-long flames are also indicative of ten-year-old behavior, by the way.)
So, basically, all of this is really rather pointless. But don't let me spoil your fun...
