Now I know this is a subject that is hard to deal with, but it was at the concern of video game violence so I decided to say something . . .
Before the Columbine shooting took place, Harris wrote "It's my fault!" "Not my parents, not my brothers, not my friends, not my favorite bands, not computer games, not the media, it's mine."
Now I found an article with a title that caught my eye . . .
'Video games made me do it'
"A society in which it's arguably easier (and cheaper) to buy a Glock semiautomatic pistol than a PlayStation 2 game console is once again blaming video gamemakers for school violence. A mere few weeks after the Attorney General of this fine nation partially blamed a school shooting on video games, the families of several victims of the 1999 Columbine High School shooting sued the industry's top gamemakers, including Sega, Sony and ID Software, for $5 billion. Their lawsuit claims the massacre would not have taken place if the teen-age gunmen hadn't played violent games like Doom and Quake. Absent from the suit were the makers of REAL guns and the people who sell them."
Now if anyone is offended by what I just said, GO BACK NOW!!!
Okay, to my viewpoint, I think that the government is on crack, because they are allowing the lawsuit to take place and that the families are taking money away from honest citizens, even themselves!! _________________ "Life is too fast. I recall reading an article in a computer magazine that quoted a former army general of some sort saying that Doom could prepare kids for combat within hours.
Which begs the question.. why the heck don't they use that to train troops? _________________ AnimeIM.com Webmaster |

The military DOES use Doom and Quake to prepare for the military life . . .
It shows how fast their reflexes are and how fast they can react in mind-numbing situations . . .
I believe that it IS a good way to train a soldier . . . _________________ "Life is too fast. Take some time out to lay down on the grass and look at the sky once in a while."
